Mr. Cornell made his Aviary boxes because he was lonely. He didn’t have anyone to love, so he made the boxes so he could love them, and so people would know he existed. And because birds are free and boxes are hiding places for the birds so they feel safe, and he wanted to feel free and safe – etc etc random artistic psychobabble about don’t compromise your integrity
It's extremely cool how he hit upon the fact that you could be a free bird, and yet still want to be a box because it's safe.
