As Ann Demeulemeester said, "Black is not sad. Bright colors are what depresses me. They’re so…empty. Black is poetic. How do you imagine a poet? In a bright yellow jacket? Probably not."
Is black back? I grew out of wearing black years ago, after my mum started allowing me to wear black. I think guys look better wearing white than black. Supposing, the tagline of williamsburg poets is what discourages people from wearing black. I mean if you're going to wear black you might aswell go the whole way and wear chunky shoes, square glasses and have a silver nose ring. And talk about Kafka and explosions. Fuck, there's a whole lifestyle to be based around wearing B L A C K ~ Go crazy! Go to Los Angeles and major in art history, if you want .
I would like a bright yellow jacket, and structure my wardrobe around it. It'll look hip and 70's like the girl in Lovely Bones. I wouldn't mind being known as the girl with the yellow parka.
I wrote a speech on hipsters referencing Tanya Gold and Rookie.mag and FRUiTs (I wasn't intending to but I was reading them at the same time and I couldn't separate them in my head), and I'm pretty haps LOL with it so i'd post it up sooonn...it's on my netbook but.
